FAQ

What should I do before you arrive?
Please ensure the drain is working properly, as our prep work involves several rinses. If your faucet is leaking more than one drop per minute, we recommend getting it fixed before the refinishing begins. It’s crucial that no water comes into contact with the newly refinished surface for the agreed-upon drying time. Additionally, please remove any personal items from the bathroom and keep the temperature between 72–76°F during the service and for the following 24 hours.
Each project is unique, but for a standard bathtub that has never been refinished, the process typically takes 3 to 4 hours depending on its condition and size. We’ll go over the specific timeline for your project in detail when you book with us.
You’ll need to wait 24 hours before using the refinished bathtub. Any damage caused by touching or using the surface within this period won’t be covered under our warranty.
The epoxy glaze we use is designed to be low-odor and non-toxic, so you can stay home safely during and after the service.
We offer a leading 5-year warranty, covering any material failures or defects not caused by improper use or care. Our written warranty guarantees that the coating will not peel or de-laminate for a full five years. Should any unforeseen issues arise despite proper care, we’ll come back immediately and resolve them at no cost to you.
The refinished surface can sometimes be more slippery, but it’s completely safe to use bath mats. Just be sure to clean under the mat regularly to maintain the surface.
At Fix Tub Fast, we only use the highest quality topcoats, sourced directly from the manufacturer. Our materials are tested for durability and beauty, and we go to great lengths to ensure the longest-lasting finish in the industry. This includes removing old caulk, deep cleaning with chlorine, sanding the surface, and, when necessary, applying an acid to soften the original glaze. Our extensive prep work is key to delivering a long-lasting finish, and no other company combines the same level of preparation and quality materials.
At what stage in a renovation should we refinish the bathtub or tile? We recommend scheduling the refinishing as the final step in your bathroom renovation. If you’re replacing the floor or installing new fixtures like faucets or drains, it’s best to complete that work before our appointment. While we take every precaution to protect the fixture from dust and debris, working in an open construction site increases the chances of imperfections. Rest assured, we don’t use sprayers or rollers, so there’s no need to worry about overspray or mess, and we promise to leave your space neat and tidy!
